I was saddened to learn of the passing of Andy Whitfield, star of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, who has been battling lymphoma. This is my tribute. Spartacus: Blood and Sand was a great show and he was great in it. Check it out if you haven’t already.

With all the renditions I’ve done based on DC’s relaunch in the fall, this one was inevitable. I present my version of Justice League!
First of all, the layout isn’t anything original. This looks exactly like a hundred group attack shots I’ve done. But sometimes the typical works. I also love paying homage to Garcia-Lopez iconic Justice League marketing group shots.
Also, a lot of cheats with this one since we’ve only seen a handful of these redesigns. Even basing it on Jim Lee’s JL cover, it’s still hard to do an interpretation, especially with Cyborgs new look. So I applied heavy shadows in parts and created new detail in others.
But another fun Justice League piece to put together. And if you’ve been living under the proverbial rock: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg.
